Volunteers Make Waves – And Our Communities Feel the Impact
At the Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau, we see it every day—how one act of kindness, one generous hour, one passionate person can set a ripple in motion.
This year’s National Volunteer Week theme, Volunteers Make Waves, beautifully captures what we witness across Leeds & Grenville: the unstoppable momentum that comes from people showing up for one another.
Like water in motion, volunteering transforms. A single drop becomes a ripple… a ripple becomes a wave… and waves create real, lasting change. Whether it’s delivering a meal, mentoring a youth, planting a community garden, or lending a listening ear—every act of service matters. Every volunteer is part of a greater movement building a stronger, more connected region.
Each generation of volunteers carries the tide forward—lifting others, creating hope, and shaping more resilient communities. The waves they create bring healing, joy, and opportunity. And here in our corner of Ontario, we’re proud to be riding that wave together.
During National Volunteer Week 2025, we honour all the volunteers in our region—past and present—who have made waves of compassion, inclusion, and action. From Prescott to Gananoque, Kemptville to Brockville, your impact is felt and deeply appreciated.
Thank you for sharing your time, talents, heart, and humanity. You’re not just helping—you’re changing the current.
Let’s keep the waves rolling.
